PROM SHOPPING TIPS
Most people begin shopping for Prom at least 2 months in advance.
Why, you ask? Certain styles cannot be re-ordered – This means that once a size and/or colour is gone, it’s gone for good! The earlier you shop, the less likely you are to miss out on your dream dress.
Some stores (Cargo Clothing included) will not sell the same style of prom dress to two students from the same school This is to ensure that every prom customers’ experience is totally unique and special!
However, exceptions can be made for those who specifically request to match. Styles that can be re-ordered may not arrive in time! Many of our dresses can be ordered into the store for you, in a different size or colour of your choice.
So, if something doesn’t quite fit or there’s a colour you’d prefer – don’t worry – just make sure you allow plenty of time before Prom!
We cannot tell you how many times customers have come in absolutely SET on a colour, only to walk out with a dress in the opposite colour!
It happens all the time.
It is important to walk into the store with an open mind, as you never know what you’ll end up being drawn to.
Don’t be afraid to leave your comfort zone, as exploring fashion and colour is all about having fun and expressing yourself!
When you limit your colour choices, you limit your prom potential, so just…don’t!
Although we have a range of heels in our changing rooms available to try on, we understand that there’s nothing quite like the “real thing”.
If you’ve already found that perfect pair of killer heels, why not bring them in?
This way, you’ll be able to see how everything looks together and feel more confident in your dress choice.

As with colour, it’s important to keep an open mind when considering styles. Some styles don’t stand out on the hanger, but completely transform on the body!
